August 3: The Five Love Languages

08/03/2023

Speaker: Dan and Marsha Schauer

Since its publication, Dr. Gary Chapman’s book, The Five Love Languages, has consistently been a best-selling book on marriage. This seminar will teach you the five love languages that are common to most people. You’ll discover your love language as well as the other four love languages. You’ll find out how to best show love towards others while understanding yourself a little bit better.

Partnering with the Family Resource Initiative, our speakers for this Lunch & Learn seminar are the husband and wife team, Rev. Dan Schauer, and Marsha Schauer, LFMT.

Dan completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Minnesota and his master’s in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. He served as an Associate Pastor in Pasadena before returning to Minnesota to plant New Heights Community Church in Inver Grove Heights. In 2021, New Heights merged with Crossroads Church, where Dan serves as the IGH Campus Pastor.

Marsha was born in Korea and moved to California when she was 11. She has a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has counseled numerous individuals, couples, children, and families in various clinic and school settings. She is currently working as a manager of a team of Care Coordinators for United Health Group.

In their spare time, Dan enjoys tennis and golf, and Marsha enjoys singing, gardening and trying out new recipes. Dan and Marsha have lived in Inver Grove Heights since 2001 and have one son Nathan who is in his first year at the University of Minnesota.
