About the presenter: Carl Nelson is the president of Transform Minnesota, a regional evangelical network where church leaders engage complex issues from a biblical perspective. Carl began working at Transform Minnesota in 1997 and was the executive director of its refugee resettlement program, Arrive Ministries, for seven years. In 2005, he was appointed president of Transform Minnesota. He serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Evangelicals and on the Parent Council of Maranatha Christian Academy.
Carl was raised on a dairy farm in east central Minnesota. He and his wife, Kari, live in north Minneapolis with their three children. For many years, they have hosted international exchange students. Carl and Kari met while teaching English in Russia and have been married since 1997. Carl has degrees from LeTourneau University in Texas and Bethel University in St. Paul.
